Film noir, a classic film style of the '40s and '50s, is noted for its dark themes, stark camera angles and high-contrast lighting. Comprising many of Hollywood's finest films, film noir tells realistic stories about crime, mystery, femmes fatales and moral conflict.

Over the last few years, I have become a big fan of this era of films.  Warner Bros and 20th Century Fox were the leaders of what would become known as the Film Noir style back in the '40s and '50s.  Both studios have shown great dedication in getting these films out on DVD.  Fox has so far released 24 titles in their FOX FILM NOIR series and Warners has released 4 boxsets called the Film Noir Classic Collection totalling another 25 films.  Needless to say, these flicks have been taking up a large amount of shelf space. This set was made to get a lot of that valuable space back!  The movies have been collected in groups and are now meant to fit in 6 disc cases.  After the runs of officially packaged Noir films from Fox and WB, I have extended the sets to include more Warner Bros noir type films from Humphrey Bogart.  After that, I have moved on to films from MGM, Universal and other studios and distributers, including two sets comprising a Criterion Collection.  I realize that not every noir fan will have all of these movies, but I would bet most have the official Fox and Warners releases, so that's why the sets start with them.  There are two variations for each cover.  The first are meant to fit super slim six disc cases that are no wider than a standard DVD case.  The second choice will fit in the more familiar one inch wide cases.   Both styles of case are available at Genesysdtp.com.  You'll notice that some of the Warners sets have a total of 7 movies listed, this is because some of the discs have two movies on one disc.
